We just visited Hilton Head Island, SC last weekend and the jellyfish were already out in force. Everyone was getting stung. Packing wet sand on the sting wasn’t getting it done for folks. I just bought four bottles of StingMate – I’ll share with others when we return next week!

Statesboro, GA

Thank you all for helping our company launch our new product StingMate…the public’s positive response coupled with brisk sales since our product release in early June has been super…to ensure a quality, safe, effective product ,we tested our product in an aquarium jellyfish labratory using large Pacific Coast Sea Nettles to sting our volunteers…our team at Stingmate also submitted to stings to confirm the effectiveness of Stingmate..we know it works…but we wanted you to know why it works…here’s but one of countless publications taken from the wealth of info out in cyberspace involving treatment for jellyfish stings…from About.com: First Aid
Tips:
Urine will not work on a jellyfish sting. Some victims have reported pain relief, but urine does not always have enough acid to neutralize the venom. Use vinegar.

The Portuguese man-of-war is technically not a jellyfish, and the use of vinegar is controversial within the marine first-aid community. Remove all tentacles from the sting site and rinse thoroughly (with sea water or vinegar). Watch for confusion, chest pain, and weakness. Man-of-war stings can be very serious.

The most deadly jellyfish is the box jellyfish from Australia. Vinegar is definitely recommended for this species. If you suspect a box jellyfish sting, seek emergency treatment immediately.

Vinegar is the gold standard for the treatment of jellyfish stings. Vinegar is used on the beach, in hospital emergency rooms…our product, along with a few proprietary formulations, is like vinegar on steroids..very convenient and easy to use….here’s how to use it !!!!!!

Directions for use of StingMate® Neutralizing First Aid Gel

1.Rinse the site with salt water to prevent stinging cells left on the skin from discharging, the untreated sting should not be rubbed or rinsed in fresh water.
2.Apply StingMate® generously to cover sting area without rubbing…gently dab on Stingmate
3.After 2-3 minutes, gently scrape using a dull edge such as a credit card or driver’s license to remove gel. This important step removes remaining stinging cells left on the skin.
4.Reapplication of StingMate® is recommended for any stinging cells that remain on the skin after the first application.
5.Minor irritation or itching may be treated with diphenhydramine or hydrocortisone cream available from you local drugstore.
6.Always seek medical attention should symptoms persist or worsen.

This product is incredible! Not only have I seen the benefits of using it after contact with jellyfish but I have also discovered Stingmate is great on misquito bites! You just spray it on and let it sit for a minute and then you can either wipe it off or leave it be. Great job with coming up with this original product! I will indefinately be buying this product hereafter!

The meterologist didn’t know why the jellyfish came early, there is a very simple explanation and that is that we had a very mild winter so the temperature of the water is much warmer then if we a very cold winter.

Thank You!!!

I spoke with Ron awhile back when this product 1st launched and decided to sell this at my Jetski Locations along Miami Beach, FL. When the Jelly FIsh are in season and stinging our sales of StingMate are good. I have seen this product 1st hand at work on sting victims and can say it does provide aid to the jellyfish sting way better then vinegar does. We have the Portuguese man-of-war and recently with the last 3 Tropical Storms (Fay / Ike / Hanna ) we have had another species of jelly fish arrive on the beach which Ron was nice enough to research and send me the info on after snapping a couple of pictures. These guys at Stingmate know their stuff and have a great product here. I am happy to be selling it at my Jetski rental locations here on Miami Beach.

Thanks StingMate !

4-26-09 @ 11:30am on Miami Beach, Florida, we had rough ocean surf and a jelly fish alert/warning flag on all lifeguard towers. Being a Distributor and Selling StingMate at my JetSki Rental Beach Concessions, we had a mother of a 4 year old girl come to us telling us that her daughter apparently stepped on a Portuguese Man-O-War that washed up on the sand. The Man-O-War stung the little girl on the bottom of her right foot fairly well as she was screaming and crying badly. We sold a bottle to mom and instructed her on how to apply the lotion to her daughter’s foot. After the 2 applications as suggested I told the Dad to bring his daughter into the jacuzzi at their hotel which has fairly hot water. After spending 15 – 20 minutes in the jacuzzi after the 2 applications of StingMate a few hours later Dad returned to thank me and tell me his little girl was doing great and feeling no more sting and playing on the beach again with her sister. Once again StingMate saved the day and helped take the Sting out of the Man-0-War! Until the next time stay Sting Free with STINGMATE !

Hi Guys-

I just want to let you know that the NYC Swim season got off to a great start on Saturday. The weather was perfect, the river currents cooperated, and the swimmers were psyched to find Sting Mate in their goody bags. There were no jellyfish sightings this weekend, but the swimmers were glad to be prepared.

We put all of our sponsor goods, including your samples and flyers, into the goody bags which are distributed at the end of the event. I’ve attached some pictures on your website photo gallery for you to check out. I posted on your site photo gallery

I’ve also attached a copy of our newsletter with the race write-up. http://www.nycwim.org

Thanks for your support of the 2009 season!

Hello,

A while back you had sent me some Stingmate and as promised it was distributed. I had also sent along a report when we used it.

Well, the last two weekends we got to use Stingmate a few times. As you know, Region 4 Rescue provides emergency rescue services at power boat races primarily in the mid-Atlantic region.

Two weeks ago we were assigned to a race in Maryland. The waters were infested with small jellyfish that you could almost walk across. During an accident our personnel were in the water and one of our pwc rapid response divers was stung. Again, following DAN protocol, then applying Stingmate. Relief took a little longer this time and required a second application about 5-10 minutes later. A few minutes after the second application he did notice relief that most of the symptoms had subsided.

Last weekend was similar. Waters with a heavy jellyfish population. More racing and more accidents. During one flip we had to extricate a racer underwater and during the course of the rescue at least 3 of us received multiple stings. We averaged 6-8 stings apiece. Almost all of them were on the extremities.

Same results. Followed DAN protocol. Then applied Stingmate. Not the immediate relief we were accustomed to. It took a little longer and a heavy second application and almost all of the symptoms disappeared. Personally I needed a third application on one spot on my lower left shin area. The third dose solved the problem. The others were happy after the second dose and did not require a third.

I am not a doctor and this is only a theory but possibly because of the adrenaline pumping during rescue efforts is the reason for the delayed action. We did notice that being in the heat the gel was more of a liquid consistency. Either way, your product did work and our rescue team members are fast becoming a fan of your product.

As promised I am providing information when the product is used and the results surrounding the incident.

Hello,

To be honest it has been a slow year for the jelly fish. So far we have not had more than a dozen cases. However the product from you guys has worked great so far. Just waiting on the day of over 100 cases to write a review for your company.
